POSITION SUMMARY:
Our Senior Accountant will play a key role in AMC’s financial management by leading accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and analyzing manufacturing costs to support decision-making. This is a hands-on role responsible for the general ledger, month-end close, and cost accounting for production activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and internal controls. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical ability, manufacturing experience, and a passion for continuous improvement.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Financial Accounting:
- Manage the month-end and year-end close process, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Prepare and analyze accurate financial statements in compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Reconcile and maintain key balance sheet accounts: inventory, WIP, fixed assets, and accruals.
- Review AP/AR transactions for correct GL coding and cutoff accuracy.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
- Prepare supporting documentation for audits, tax filings, and management reviews.
Cost Accounting:
- Analyze material, labor, and overhead costs to ensure accurate COGS and margin reporting.
- Track and reconcile inventory and WIP balances, ensuring accurate valuation of manufactured goods.
- Monitor and report production variances, scrap, and rework with operations teams.
- Develop and maintain cost models and manufacturing performance reports.
- Partner with production and supply chain to understand true cost drivers and improve profitability.
- Support the annual physical inventory and cycle-count reconciliation process.
- Recommend and implement process improvements for cost tracking and reporting.
Systems & Process Improvement:
- Collaborate with IT/Systems to enhance ERP data accuracy (D365 F&SCM) and reporting automation.
- Develop Power BI reports and Excel-based tools for financial and operational insight.
- Document accounting procedures and ensure strong internal controls.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and cost accounting principles.
- Experience with ERP systems (Microsoft D365 Finance & Supply Chain preferred).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Power BI for cost and financial analysis.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
- Minimum education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or CMA preferred).
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Will occasionally/frequently stand, walk, sit, use both hands, and carry/lift to 25 lbs.
- This is a full-time position located at our Camarillo facility, Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. Additional hours, including coming in early, staying late and working weekends, as required.
- We are ITAR Registered (International-Traffic-In-Arms-Regulations). Hired candidate must be a US Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident.
Pay Range: $80,000 to $100,000 annual salary.
